The PinheadsThey may have only been a band for a shade over a year, but The Pinheads are making themselves known in a big way, announcing their signing with esteemed industry stalwart 123 Agency today, as well as unveiling their first-ever headline tour dates of the east coast to coincide with their debut EP.
The new deal comes as the Wollongong-bred outfit — who signed a label deal with Farmer & The Owl within months of having formed on Record Store Day 2014 — turn their attention to their next big challenge, the forthcoming release of debut EP I Wanna Be A Girl via Farmer & The Owl/Inertia on Friday, 25 September. You might have caught lead single If I Have To Wait floating around the airwaves of late on stations such as triple j and FBi, but if you're not yet across what The Pinheads have to offer, rectify that shit right now. Look, we'll even make it easy for you:
The band will set off for their extensive east-coast run the day after the EP's release, kicking off in support of Tumbleweed at Waves, Wollongong, on Saturday, 26 September. From there, The Pinheads head to Sounds Of The Suburbs, in Cronulla, on 27 September, before hitting the Rolling Stone Live Lodge, in Newtown, with Stonefield on Wednesday, 30 September.
They're back in Wollongong for two shows at the Yours & Owls Festival on 3-4 September, the second of which is an all-ages performance, before taking a slight break and picking up again at Melbourne's Workers Club on Thursday, 22 October. Sydney's Brighton Up Bar follows on Saturday, 24 October, before they finish their sojourn with a pair of free shows: the first at Byron Bay's Great Northern on Saturday, 31 October; the second at Gold Coast's Broadbeach Tavern on Sunday, 1 November.
