Irish firebrands The Mary Wallopers are returning to Australia and making their New Zealand debut in 2027, and for their Australian comeback, they play their largest shows to date.
Last on our shores in September 2025, the incendiary live outfit returns in support of their recently released album, Paddywhackery.
The tour begins in New Zealand, with the band taking over Christchurch’s James Hay Theatre on Saturday, 15 May. The Mary Wallopers then head to Australia, performing at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Tuesday, 18 May; Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday, 21 May; Melbourne’s Forum on Saturday, 22 May; and Metropolis Fremantle on Tuesday, 25 May.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from Friday, 9 October, at 11 am local time, followed by the general sale on Monday, 12 October, at 12 pm local time. Head to the Frontier Touring website for more details.
Led by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, The Mary Wallopers have gone from being cult sensations to one of Ireland’s most vital live exports. Today, they light up festival stages and pack out venues in their native Ireland, plus spaces in the UK, Europe, and North America.
With a new album released, their ascent isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Their music fuses centuries-old folk traditions with razor-sharp humour, political fire, and a refusal to follow conventional musical approaches.
Clash Music described the group’s latest album, Paddywhackery, as “unsurprisingly and unashamedly brash, bold and so enjoyable.” Who doesn’t love an album with that kind of energy?
