It would mark the band's first tour of the country since 2013
Las Vegas rockers The Killers have said that they're planning a dedicated tour of Australia for 2018 after confirming that they will indeed perform at this year's AFL Grand Final match at the MCG.
As News Corp reports, the band's frontman, Brandon Flowers, verified reports that the veteran outfit would be playing at the event, though he admitted to not "know[ing] much about AFL … But I know it's like the Superbowl".
Of broader interest to music fans, however, will likely be the comment from The Killers' drummer, Ronnie Vannucci Jr, who told News Corp, along with the excitement of the Grand Final spot, "We're planning a full-on assault of Australia next year."
"We love Australia," he said. "I could live there."

All progressing to plan, it would mark the group's first tour of the country in five years — they last did so in 2013 — and would come in the wake of their impending fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, which lands just ahead of their visit for the Grand Final on 30 September.
The band released their newest single, The Man, this week; have a listen below.
