Another huge win for The Kid LAROI.
Sydney rapper The Kid LAROI has just claimed his first-ever US #1 single.
Just days away from his 18th birthday, The Kid LAROI has become the first Australian-born male solo artist to hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart in just over 40 years with his track Stay featuring Justin Bieber.
The last Australian-born male solo artist to achieve this was Rick Springfield with Jessie's Girl on 1 August 1981 after a 19 week climb to the top spot.
It's also been revealed today that Stay is also #1 on Spotify's Top 50 Global Charts, ahead of Maneskin's Beggin', Lil Nas X's Industry Baby feat. Jack Harlow, Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits, Olivia Rodrigo's good 4 u, Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever and more.
This is the latest in a series of huge successes for The Kid LAROI who last week saw his F*ck Love mixtape come in at #1 on the US Chart making him the first Australia solo artist to claim the spot since Sia's 1000 Forms Of Fear in 2014. Additionally, he is now the youngest artist to hit #1 on the chart taking over from Billie Eilish's 2019 record.
