The John Steel Singers Announce National Tour Dates In Honour Of New Album

'Midnight At The Plutonium' is out today

More The John Steel Singers The John Steel Singers

Stalwart indie troupe The John Steel Singers have just released their keenly awaited new full-length, Midnight At The Plutonium, and to celebrate its arrival they've announced a seven-date national tour kicking off next month.

Getting under way at Toowoomba's Spotted Cow on Friday 19 August, the tour will take the band to stages in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, where they close out the run on Saturday 3 September at the Amplifier Bar.

The new record marks a distinct evolution for the band, encompassing their growing soul and funk influences alongside their existing soundscape to dabble in the realms of 'post-yacht' deliciousness. Early tastes from the full-length came in the form of well-received singles such as Weekend Lover and eight-minute experimental epic Can You Feel The Future; the labours of love — dripping from the walls of the band's self-built, titular studio, The Plutonium — poured into those tracks and the rest of the album are an easily palpable quality to this newest, thoroughly impressive piece of work.

Midnight At The Plutonium is available now via Plutonium Records/Create Control.

The John Steel Singers will be joined for all shows on their forthcoming tour by ascendant Melburnian chanteuse Alex Lahey.

Tickets are available now through a variety of outlets; see theGuide for a full rundown of dates, venues and other booking information.
