The Handsome FamilyHusband and wife duo Brett and Rennie Sparks make up The Handsome Family, a duo who have been performing their decidedly dark, often wicked and strangely beautiful brand of music for over 20 years.
While the music is certainly deeply emotional, it's not all doom and gloom. There's a sense of love and optimism in a lot of the band's lyrics, even if their music may often seem overwhelmingly dour. There's absolute beauty in just about everything this duo do.
It has been a while since they connected with Australian audiences but they will be back with plenty of new tunes courtesy of their Wilderness album, which was released in May, and they have five shows planned for while they are out here.
