Sydney band The Griswolds have issued an apology to fans for postponing their upcoming tour which was set to kick off tonight.
The indie-pop outfit announced on Wednesday that headline shows throughout the country have been called off due to "a sudden reason that we'd prefer to remain private".

The Griswolds thanked fans for the support following the shock announcement in a statement given to The Music today.

"There is nothing easy about having to move a tour or cancel shows," the statement reads.
"The fans make everything we do worth it; the fans that show their love for us and support us when the band is slaying and also when we go through our struggles.
"We want to apologise that we let our fans down and assure you that we will be back to make it up to you all. Thank you all for all your love and support."
Management have confirmed to The Music that new dates for the postponed shows are yet to be arranged.
