The Pennsylvania-bred four-piece will play a show each in Sydney and Melbourne
US-based four-piece rock outfit The Districts have joined the growing number of Splendour In The Grass artists to announce standalone headline sideshows for this July as complementary performances to their slots at the annual camping festival.
Having recently released their critically acclaimed second full-length, A Flourish And A Spoil, The Districts will perform at Melbourne's Northcote Social Club on Monday, 27 July, and Sydney's Newtown Social Club on Tuesday, 28 July, in the wake of their Splendour appearance.
It's been a whirlwind few years for the Pennsylvania quartet since the release of their debut EP, Kitchen Songs, in 2012, having also released their debut LP, Telephone, before their senior year. The buzz from those early releases, and consequently A Flourish And A Spoil, have cemented The Districts as one of the most vital, ascendant young acts around, having also appeared on high-profile bills such as South By Southwest, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Reading & Leeds festivals, Outside Lands and Haldern Pop Festival.
You can hear why for yourself with the band's recent single 4th & Roebling, below.
Tickets for The Districts' Splendour In The Grass sideshows will go on sale from 10am local time on Wednesday, 29 April. There will be an exclusive pre-sale for Secret Sounds members from 10am the day before, on Tuesday, 28 April.
