The Delta Riggs, Sahara Beck & More To Ring In 2017 At Gold Coast's NightQuarter Markets

Celebrated Gold Coast market venue NightQuarter is bolstering its musical contingent for its celebratory year-ending event this December, unveiling an eclectic, electrifying line-up of artists to help ring in 2017 in all the right ways.

Leading the charge of musical acts lending their talents to the 'Midnight Trip' festivities are Coast-bred, Melbourne-based rockers The Delta Riggs and magnetic songstress Sahara Beck.

The Delta Riggs will land back on the GC in the wake of their lauded new full-length Active Galactic, for which they just wrapped up an epic 20-date run around the country. That's not to say that Beck has had a slouchy year herself since releasing her lauded album Panacea back in April; she's gone on to collaborate with Jay Bovino (Sheppard), release a stylish-as-hell video clip and secure a sync deal with Häagen-Dazs ice-cream for an ad featuring Bradley Cooper, among other pursuits and projects.

The pair of renowned acts are set to usher in the new year with additional entertainment coming courtesy of Kiama crew The Vanns, emergent artists Aquila Young and Keelan Mak, and a trio of Coast-based acts including psych-surf faves Yes Sir Noceur, their contemporaries in Peach Fur, and the five-piece psych-funk of Lotus Ship.

According to venue owner Michelle Christoe, the line-up has been chosen with a particular eye cast on showcasing the best of the region.

"The idea for Midnight Trip came from our love and respect for the Gold Coast music scene," she explained in a statement. "We wanted a line-up that showcased the ‘sound of the Gold Coast’, and we couldn’t be prouder to have The Delta Riggs headlining. This is a band that proves how far you can go when you start on the Gold Coast."

In addition to the musical entertainment, NightQuarter's NYE Midnight Trip will also feature more than 50 cuisines based out of shipping-container micro-restaurants, street-food stalls and dessert alleys, which are all sure to keep your taste buds sated as you stroll through the fashion, craft and other boutique wares on offer.

The Midnight Trip all goes down at NightQuarter, in Helensvale, from 4pm on Saturday 31 December, running until 12.30am Sunday 1 January. Early-bird tickets are available now, with VIP packages (including food and beverages) also up for grabs. For more booking information, see theGuide.

NightQuarter has swiftly established itself as a premier event destination on the Gold Coast, having welcomed such esteemed acts as The Cat Empire, Sticky Fingers and SAFIA in its first year and picked up the 2016 Gold Coast Music Award for Venue Of The Year.
