The worst kind of people.

More The Delta Riggs More The Delta Riggs

The lead guitarist of popular Melbourne rock act The Delta Riggs has been the victim of a car break-in today, in which his guitar and equipment were stolen.

Alex Markwell took to the band's Facebook page earlier today to announce the news which he claims took place outside his home in Fitzroy.

Check out the post below.

"Dear Jerk Thieves,

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

Thanks for smashing my car window and taking my fave guitar, pedals, new pedal board and for putting glass all over the inside of my car, top start to the day.

It happened outside my pad in Fitzroy. If any legends happen to see them pop up around Melbourne or wherever please hit me up.

Love, Alex."

Markwell has already received a flood of support from fans, though at this stage he is unfortunately guitar-less for the time being.

If you happen to be around the Fitzroy area, don't forget to be a pal and keep your eye out for the equipment as pictured above.

The Delta Riggs are set to perform a Movember launch party in Sydney next week, followed by shows at Festival Of The Sun and Mountain Sounds in December — head to theGuide for more details.
