Melburnian quartet The Delta Riggs have unveiled plans for their next album this afternoon — their third full-length Active Galactic will be released this August via Inertia, as the band plough full steam ahead on a massive 20-date tour in support of the new record.

Having already released Surgery Of Love, the rockers will take the 13-track album on a tour that sees them taking on both metropolitan and regional cities over three months, kicking off on 23 September and wrapping things up on 12 November.

The band say of Active Galactic: "It was super peaceful where we recorded; you feel ostracised from anything else in the universe. It’s important for us to really dive into the recording process without distraction. Vibe is key. It’s almost as paramount as the music.

"After nine days, cocktails at 5pm, suits at 6pm, a few minor disagreements and some intergalactic good times later – we had finished what we believe to be our finest work to date. Then we went to LA, which is a whole other story."

The guys are also offering an interesting set of pre-order packs from their website — you can choose to have Monte cook you and your friends dinner in Sydney, create a one-off piece of art in Melbourne with Simon, cruise around in Elliott's LeFonda (his 1963 Chrysler Newport coupe) or shoot the breeze and a bar tab with Alex.
