One of Australia’s favourite, most treasured bands, The Clouds, will embark on a short but sweet tour this November, in which they’ll celebrate their beloved singles.

The Clouds are returning to the spotlight with The Singles Tour, where they’ll perform two exclusive headline shows at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, 20 November, and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday, 21 November.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Friday, 19 June, at 10 am local time, followed by the general sale on Monday, 22 June, at 10 am local time. You can find the ticketing information on the Metropolis Touring website.

For The Singles Tour, The Clouds will showcase their most loved tracks, such as Hieronymus, Red Serenade, Say It, Soul Eater, Anthem, Cloud Factory, Bower of Bliss, and more.

Late last year, the band – comprising Jodi Phillis (guitar/vocals), Trish Young (bass/vocals), Dave Easton (guitar) and Raphael Whittingham (drums) – commemorated their 35th anniversary with a handful of East Coast shows.

In 2024, The Clouds celebrated the highlights of their four albums, Penny Century (1991), Octopus (1992), Thunderhead (1993), and Futura (1996). They released a vinyl box set featuring all four albums alongside the tour announcement.

The 2024 shows were some of the first for the band since their 2011 reunion. Following their reformation, The Clouds released their first taste of new music in 20 years with the Zaffre EP, which dropped in 2017. The band released three singles since 2017: Some About Your Love in 2021, Check Us Out in 2019 and Beautiful Nothingness in 2017.

During the late 80s to early 90s, the group were well-regarded as promising up-and-comers, proving so with their rapid rise in the Australian music landscape soon after. Blending dreamy pop, angular rock and misty shoegaze with cosy melodies and pure poetic lyricism, The Clouds would make continuous placements on triple j’s rotation.
