The ChurchAustralian rock royalty The Church have just announced their most ambitious tour to date.
This November, the Under The Milky Way rockers will embark on their A Psychedelic Symphony tour, where they’ll be accompanied by a 30-piece Symphony Orchestra led by celebrated conductor and composer George Ellis.
Together with the Symphony Orchestra, The Church will reimagine and present their expansive songbook of hits, including Under The Milky Way, The Unguarded Moment, Reptile, Almost With You, Metropolis, and more, in a completely new setting.
The tour begins at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday, 1 November. From there, the band and Symphony Orchestra head to the Gold Coast, Canberra, Newcastle, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane, and Adelaide, concluding the run at the Thebarton Theatre on Saturday, 28 November. The full list of dates and venues is listed below.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday, 13 May, at 12 pm local time, followed by the general sale on Friday, 15 May, at 12 pm local time. You can find more ticketing information on the Metropolis Touring website.

Described as “The Church in ultra luxe mode,” a press release notes that twelve-string guitars will be backed by lush violins as the band reexamine their timeless catalogue “grand orchestral arrangements.”
“The orchestra chime in at ideal moments, building songs to shimmering crescendos,” the press release adds, adding that the show captures “When art rock meets classical music.”
The Church continuously tour and record, having become one of Australia’s most prolific bands.
In 2024, they released their 27th album, Eros Zeta and the Perfumed Guitars. A companion piece to 2023’s The Hypnogogue, The Church expanded on that album’s science fiction themes and utilised the same guitar-driven, jangle-meets-goth-rock sound for the follow-up record.
