More The Chainsmokers More The Chainsmokers

After a successful inaugural run featuring Tiesto and Kygo in 2023, Palm Tree Music Festival will return to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in December.

Kygo and Myles Shear co-founded the festival in 2020. In addition to Australia, it has held events in Hawaii, The Hamptons, Mexico, Croatia, and more.

For its second year in Australia, Palm Tree Music Festival has locked in pop-EDM hitmakers The Chainsmokers, known for their hits such as Closer (featuring Halsey), Something Just Like This (with Coldplay), and Don’t Let Me Down (with Daya). Fans of Don’t Let Me Down should look forward to this year’s event, with the singer also on the bill—maybe a surprise performance on the way?

Elsewhere on the bill is Swedish DJ and producer Alesso, multi-instrumentalist Gryffin, Harlem hitmaker Austin Millz – who had his first-ever headline tour of Australia earlier this year – and Australian emerging star Darley. Daya and Gryffin will be making their Australian debuts.

The Palm Tree Music Festival fun begins on Friday, 6 December, at Sydney Showground, followed by Brisbane’s Sandstone Point Hotel on Saturday, 7 December, and ends at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday, 8 December.

General tickets go on sale next Friday, 12 July, at 3 pm local time. You can find more ticketing information per date on the TEG Live website.

In a statement, Alesso said about returning to Australia, “Can't express how excited I am to come back to one of my favourite countries in the world. Every time I get invited back, it's always a highlight of the year.

“Aussie crowds are no question one of the best and craziest crowds. I love audiences that aren't shy to show their enthusiasm and ready to have a good time; plus, one of the funniest people I know is from Australia, and the seafood is awesome!”

Gryffin said of his forthcoming Australian visit, “So excited to be coming to Australia for my very first time,” while Daya added, “I’m so excited to play the Palm Tree Fest!! It’ll be my first time ever performing in Australia and to do it alongside so many old friends will be a dream.”

And Aussie emerging star Darley commented, “I can’t wait to be playing on one of the world’s biggest festivals with artists I’ve looked up to my whole career.”
