North Sydney Oval will host its first-ever concert this March

More The Cat Empire More The Cat Empire

Venerated Aussie acts The Cat Empire and The Jezabels sit atop an impressive five-strong roster of acts set to transform North Sydney Oval into a live music venue for the first time in March for the inaugural Party In The Park open-air concert event, proudly presented by The Music.

Designed to satiate the gig-going appetites of shindig-starved younger folks in the area, Party In The Park's drawcards for the evening are rounded out by the esteemed likes of stalwart Melbourne indie outfit The Paper Kites, fellow Melbourne mainstays Husky and Sydney-based indie-folk trio Sons Of The East.

"We saw that younger people on the north shore and northern beaches weren't getting any love in terms of outdoor music events," the concert's promoter, Paul Chesher, said in a statement. "And what better place than this amazing park? It ticks all the boxes: it's close to transport, has first-rate facilities, is surrounded by great pubs and restaurants, and has plenty of space for punters to roam around, chill on the hill or get up front to party.

"It's an awesome line-up of Aussie bands for a great ticket price and sure to be a winner with both locals and other Sydneysiders."
