Key players in the Australian music scene, members of Powderfinger, Jet, You Am I and Spiderbait have joined forces to tour as Antipodean Rock Collective, hitting The Carine on Nov 24.

In the lead-up, we had Darren Middleton name his favourite supergroups before he’s joined on stage by Mark Wilson, Davey Lane and Kram.

The Travelling Wilburys

This gang would have to be at the top of my list just due to the people involved and my personal taste. Unbeatable singer-songwriters - a unique bunch from this era.

Temple Of The Dog

Loved this project before I had heard Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc. It's a cool rock album, great songs and Chris Cornel’s vocals… man!

The Wrights

Have to love this one-off group containing my mates from Australian bands!

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

What great harmonies and songwriters. I think the key to all the great supergroups is the combined songwriting prowess of each member. It just makes for something pretty special.

Them Crooked Vultures

Well again, with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme, you can't go wrong; one of my favourite modern supergroups.
