The long-awaited second long player from Australia's The Avalanches flew into the UK Top Ten albums chart today.
Wildflower debuted at number ten, this week's second highest debut behind Biffy Clyro who came in at number one with their new Ellipsis set.
While not yet charting as high as their first album did sixteen years ago — Since I Left You peaked at eight in the UK — The Avalanches album came in ahead of tough competition from Aphex Twin (#14), Schoolboy Q (#36), Roisin Murphy (#41) and Badbadnotgood (#100).
Wildflower also clocked in at number ten in the Album Downloads Chart but landed slightly higher at number eight in the Album Sales Chart. And, while it landed at a lowly #75 in the Streaming Chart, the album was the third highest selling vinyl for the week. It debuted at number nine in the overall Physical Sales Chart.

The album debuted in the Scottish charts at number nine.
Fellow Melbourne band Cookin' On 3 Burners recently topped the Scottish Singles Chart and, after a four-week run at number two on the UK Singles Chart, their This Girl collab with Kungs, featuring Kylie Auldist, this week slipped to number five. The track was top-blocked by Drake's One Dance which remains at number one for a 14th week (and two weeks shy of tying to become the longest running number one in the UK). This Girl did reach number one on the UK's Singles Sales and Single Download charts.
