Drop New Single WIth Mercury Rev
In case you’re still coming to terms with the fact The Avalanches are indeed gearing up to release a new record next month, perhaps their latest single, Colours featuring Jonathan Donahue of Mercury Rev fame, will make the prospect seem more real.
The long-awaited follow-up to 2000’s iconic Since I Left You was solidified at the start of the month with lead single Frankie Sinatra — a unique, bizarre and nostalgia-fuelled first glimpse at their upcoming Wildflower LP.
The comeback record is overflowing with collaborations, with punters treated to vocals on the lead single from Danny Brown and MF Doom as well as appearances from Toro y M on If I Was A Folkstar (which also dropped this week), Father John Misty and more.
The seminal act play Splendour In The Grass next month after Wildflower is unleashed on July 8. Their live comeback went down at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival shortly after the release of Frankie Sinatra.
