The Avalanches' return to action continues unabated as the celebrated sample fiends have sold out their scheduled show at Melbourne Town Hall in early January, leading to a second and final gig in the city being added to their impending commitments.

The January shows only went on sale this morning, and Melbourne sold out in a flash. Tickets still remain for Sydney and Adelaide, though both are selling fast.

The ticketing blitz is the icing on the cake of a day that was already an utter treat thanks to the release of new compilation release Subways Remixes, featuring a trio of excellent reinventions of the band's Wildflower track Subways.

The release includes remixes from iconic producer and DJ Arthur Baker (Afrika Bambaataa, New Order) as well as In Flagranti and Leo James, and it can be yours at the click of a button.

Tickets for The Avalanches' second show at Melbourne Town Hall, on Wednesday 4 January, will go on sale from 9am on Monday, 26 September, via Secret Sounds Touring.
