Indigenous youth organisation Digi Youth Arts has unveiled the first iteration its of interchanging band, The Ancient Bloods, with the release of new LP Golden Veins.

The band has been established as a mentoring platform for Indigenous young people, and each project it undertakes will “deliver a recorded work in response to cultural heritage, political issues and identity”.

The 10-track LP has been described as “musically significant as it is political”, with lead single Boogieman, penned by Rudy Marshall-McGrath, being a call to action for the museum sector to return Indigenous artefacts

The current iteration of the band features Marshall-McGrath, Declan Beetson, Gina Currie, Stephanie Evans and Phi Sandy alongside non-Indigenous brother Fin Wegener and mentor Luke Daniel Peacock.
