Local metalcore heavyweights The Amity Affliction are one of the final three artists in the running for the Channel [V] Oz Artist Of The Year.

It's been a big year for the Brisbane outfit, despite a recent and shock line-up change. They released their second consecutive number one album Let The Ocean Take Me this June.

They'll face stiff competition for the title though, with world-beating Sydney-formed boy band 5 Seconds Of Summer and WA prodigy and influential teen pop artist Troye Sivan the other two finalists.

The public-voted award initially began with 50 acts and had gradually been reduced over the past couple of months. The winner — plus lucky voter who'll score $10,000 — will be revealed on Channel [V] show The Riff: Live on Saturday 6 December at 10.30am.

Voting closes Saturday 29 November.
