Bursting into its 24th year of operation, prestigious songwriting competition WAM Song Of The Year has unveiled the massive list 2013 WAM nominations showcasing some of Western Australia's best songwriting talent.

This year, the comp sees the nomination of 80 nominees in 16 categories, offering more than $35,000 in prizes with the Grand Prize winner grabbing $3,000 cash.

Additionally, the grand winner picks up three days recording at Sydney's Albert Studios with engineer Wayne Connolly, a mentoring session with the Albert's Creative Services Team, a mastering session with James Hewgill Music, an opportunity for a deal with Perfect Pitch Publishing, an online Berkley Music course, a RODE microphones package and 500 CDs – yeah, 500 – all up, a pretty amazing prize.
