Musical performances by Tex Perkins, Julia Stone and Christine Anu will feature on Foxtel Sunday 2 December as part of documentary special The People Speak.

An adaptation of an American show of the same name, The People Speak features actors, personalities and musicians delivering the letters, songs and speeches of rebels, thinkers and protesters from Australia's past.

Also featuring Jack Thompson, Claudia Karvan, Asher Keddie, Magda Szubanski and David Wenham the show – produced by The History Channel and WTFN Entertainment and exclusive to Foxtel – was filmed in July at Sydney's iconic transport-workshop turned multi-purpose venue Carriageworks.

Originally intended to premiere during October, Foxtel have announced today that the two-hour special will air 7.30pm Sunday 2 December on The History Channel.
