Promoter Responds To Those 'Taylor Swift Melbourne Cup Performance' Rumours

Mushroom Promotions has responded to reports that Taylor Swift, as well as fellow pop stars Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, are in talks to perform at this year's Melbourne Cup. 

According to The Daily Telegraph, industry legend Michael Gudinski and the Victoria Racing Club are in negotiations for the trio to head Down Under for the annual race in this November who are reportedly "interested" in the offer.

In a statement given to The Music today, a spokesperson from Mushroom responded to the report. 

"Michael is in ongoing conversations with a number of artists presently," the spokesperson said.

"At this point no one has been confirmed."

The news comes after UK singer Sam Smith performed at the 2018 Melbourne Cup. 

Meanwhile, Swift is expected to score her fifth-straight #1 Australian album with Lover when the charts are announced later today.
