It’s an exciting time to be a Taylor Swift fan, with the singer releasing her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on Friday (3 October).

However, on a bittersweet note, Swift has revealed that she currently has no plans to hit the road anytime soon following her mammoth Eras Tour.

The Eras Tour began on 17 March 2023 and concluded on 8 December 2024. It saw Swift perform 149 concerts in 51 cities across five continents. While on tour, she dropped her eleventh album, The Tortured Poets Department, last May, and revamped the shows to include the new songs.

Swift’s latest album was recorded in Sweden in between shows on the Eras Tour, with production from the mega pop team of Max Martin and Shellback. Discussing the album and her nearly two years on the road, Swift revealed that she doesn’t currently have “the itch” to tour after the exhausting run.

“I had so much fun on that tour,” Swift began in an interview with Greg James on BBC Radio 1. “It was obviously the most exhausting challenge ever, physically. But I’ll never forget seeing what I saw – I could see everyone from the stage. I don’t think they know that. I have incredible vision.

“I could see [the crowd’s] experience and their joy, and that fed me. Like that fuelled me, even when I was exhausted and tired.”

When James asked if she missed the busy touring schedule and fitness regime, she responded, “I am so good right now – my joints are good. I bake; I have hobbies again. I could only do the ‘Eras Tour’ when I was on the ‘Eras Tour’, and that’s two years of just having no other hobbies. So now I have the hobbies again.”

She added: “The fact that you could ever be a part of something like the ‘Eras Tour’… for me, it feels like such an honour that the fans made it into what it was. Because it was truly astonishing for all of us who were on that tour. We were like, ‘What is going on?!’.

After opening up about how the Eras Tour exceeded expectations, James asked Swift if she’d regained “the itch” to go on another tour soon.

She admitted, “No. I’m gonna be really honest with you. I am so tired, like when I think about doing it again. Because I would want to do it really well again, you know?”
