Rising Canadian pop star Tate McRae will return to Australia late next year to celebrate her newly announced second album, Think Later.

McRae, who was last in the country in 2022 for Spin Off festival and a run of headline dates, will drop her new album this December.

The Think Later run will head Down Under in November 2024, taking in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne with emerging US talent Charlieonnafriday in tow.

Those who pre-order Think Later from On Repeat before 11:59pm AEDT this Sunday, November 12 will be able to access tickets early on Monday, November 13 at 9am (local time).

Secret Sounds and My Live Nation pre-sale will then go live on November 13 at 3pm before general on-sale on Tuesday, November 14 at 3pm.

Produced by Ryan Tedder (Taylor Swift, Beyoncé), Think Later is said to be “steeped in pop appeal and infectious toplines” and showcases McRae’s “boundless vocal talent and evolution as a songwriter”.

McRae featured as The Music’s cover artist ahead of her first Aussie shows last year.

During a chat with Cyclone, McRae admitted that she didn't necessarily aspire to be a singer-songwriter when she was growing up as a dancer.

"Honestly, I thought I was gonna grow up and be a good dancer, 'cause I dedicated so many hours to it at a really young age," she said. "At one point, I was convinced that I was gonna move to Europe and become a ballerina – which I was really close to doing.

"I never really thought that I was going to be a singer; I thought I was always going to be like the back-up dancer. So it's very wild now that I'm able to do both."
