The new original motion picture soundtrack for Illumination's Minions: The Rise Of Guru has been announced. The action-comedy continues one of the biggest animated franchises in history and its soundtrack is set for release on the 1st of July, alongside the film's global theatrical release.

The soundtrack is produced entirely by 2022 Grammy Award-winning Producer Of The Year Jack Antonoff and features a star-studded line-up.

Following the release of her 2021 hit, Thank You, Diana Ross is combining with none other than Tame Impala for dance-worthy, joyous single Turn Up The Sunshine, which releases on Friday the 20th of May.

The soundtrack celebrates a range of dazzling funk, disco and soul classics with brand-new versions of some of the biggest hits of the 1970s from some of today’s hottest talent.

St Vincent delivers a cover of Lipps Inc's 1979 hit Funkytown, H.E.R provides a rendition of Sly And The Family Stone's 1967 smash Dance To The Music, Bleachers take on John Lennon's 1970 track Instant Karma! and Phoebe Bridgers interprets The Carpenters' 1972 single Goodbye To Love, and that's just naming a few.

And of course, Illumination’s Minions themselves star on the album, with their distinctive performance of the classic Simon & Garfunkel 1970s favourite, Cecilia.

Antonoff is a globally adored singer, songwriter and record producer. He's already collaborated extensively with the likes of Diana Ross, Taylor Swift, Lorde, St. Vincent, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, Kevin Abstract and many more, which has led him to numerous accolades, including six Grammy Awards.
