After making its grand return in 2023, Tales From The Road is once again set to take over The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane (Meanjin) for a magical afternoon of jaw-dropping stories from some of Australia’s most legendary touring artists.

The one-of-a-kind event will go down on Friday July 26, with the schedule running from 12pm to 4pm. Myf Warhurst (of Spicks & Specks fame) will return as its MC, encouraging her panel of Aus rock and pop greats to break the golden rule of the music industry: ‘what happens on tour stays on tour’.

The panel itself will feature Ball Park Music frontman Sam Cromack, original Wiggles icon Murray Cook (also known for his stellar work in The Soul Movers), Powderfinger shred-lord Ian Haug (who also strums up a storm in The Church), up-and-coming pop stalwart Hope D, and returning favourite Patience Hodgson (of The Grates).

In addition to their roundtable discussion, 2024’s Tales From The Road will feature a Q&A session, a mouthwatering two-course lunch and four-hour bar tab (with frothies provided by the kings and queens at Brick Lane Brewing, and wine from the Granite Belt’s wondrous Balancing Heart Vineyard), and an auction of priceless music memorabilia, raising funds for disability rights charity Youngcare.

In a statement shared with The Music, Warhurst said of her return to the fabled Tales stage: “Tales From The Road stands out as a cherished annual event for me! Renowned Aussie legends of music coming together, putting on a great show and letting some skeletons out of the closet – all in support of Youngcare's vital cause... See you there!”

The sentiment was echoed by John Collins – former bassist for Powderfinger and current director of The Fortitude Music Hall and The Triffid – who said in his own statement: “Tales From The Road is one of my favourite events of the year. It’s a great opportunity for well-known musicians to share entertaining stories about their time on the road.

“The thing that sets this event apart from other charity lunches is that the guest panellists showcase their talent with a very special performance after their chat with Myf. Doing it all for Youngcare is a massive bonus.”
