UK pop-rock trio Take That have announced their first Australian tour since 2017.

Embarking on a massive run across the country, Take That – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – will return this October and November, performing in arenas and three A Day On The Green dates. The group will be joined by special guest Sophie Ellis-Bextor on all dates, with Aussie singer-songwriter and Australian Idol co-host Ricki Lee opening their A Day On The Green shows.

The tour begins on Wednesday, 30 October, at Perth’s RAC Arena. It then heads to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (Wednesday, 6 November), Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena (Thursday, 7 November), and Auckland’s Spark Arena (Thursday, 14 November.

Take That said about their impending return to Australia in a press release, “We are so looking forward to coming back to Australia and New Zealand later this year, our first live shows over there since 2017!

“And we are honoured that Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be joining us. It’s going to be great to see everyone again and perform the songs from our new album ‘This Life’, as well as all the favourites, and a few surprises! We can’t wait … see you all soon.”

Take That are touring in support of their UK #1 album, This Life. In the last month, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s classic Murder On The Dancefloor has seen a significant resurgence due to its needle-drop moment during the final scene of Emerald Fennell’s famous film Saltburn. A few weeks ago, Aussie indie rockers Royel Otis covered the track for triple j’s Like A Version.

Next month, Ricki Lee will release her first new album in ten years, On My Own.
