'Whole Wide World' is here, 'Frontier' is close
Sydney's five-piece Sister Jane have unveiled a new single this morning, getting fans prepared and excited for their newly-named sophomore record, Frontier, set to drop early next year.
New tune Whole Wide World is a coming-of-age for the band from the Blue Mountains, recorded between a Wauchope abandoned schoolhouse and Sister Jane's guitarist Liam Judson's Sydney studio, and bragging the mastering duties from Grammy-winning producer and Gotye confidant William Bowden.
Always praised for an energetic live-show, the band describes the new single as a sonic sidestep from the usual Sister Jane sound, but assures the change is for the better as they experiment with soundscape and the sounds of post-punk, Brit-pop and sixties-keys to present a more mature and refined release.
