Sydney will be home to another New Year’s Eve event this year, courtesy of live music promoters Fuzzy.

The team behind festivals and parties such as Field Day, Harbourlife, and the newly launched Listen Out Presents will host a fresh celebration on Sydney’s most iconic shoreline: Bondi Beach. According to a press release, the event will mark the first time a New Year’s Eve party of this scale has been held at Bondi Beach in over a decade.

While details of the event haven’t been announced yet, Fuzzy promises to deliver a “world-class event” that has “global energy and a distinctly Bondi attitude.” The event will have limited capacity and operate as an 18+ ticketed event.

Plus, there will be a free, family-friendly event for locals. The celebration will present “a Bondi Beach backdrop” where punters can enjoy the experience with food trucks, entertainment, and a 9 pm fireworks display. More announcements will arrive soon.

The celebration is set to feature local performers, and will partner with businesses and support charities in the area. If you’re keen to know more, sign up to the Fuzzy website as more details, including pre-sale and general ticket sale dates, are revealed.

In a statement, Fuzzy Managing Director Adelle Robinson said, “This is a party we’ve wanted to throw for a long time. We’ve got a deep history with Bondi, and to return on New Year’s Eve feels pretty special. It’s an iconic location and the perfect backdrop for what we have planned. We can’t wait to share more soon.”

Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh added, “There’s no better place to ring in the New Year than at Australia’s most iconic and best-loved beach.

“Council committed to providing our residents and visitors with more festivals, events and opportunities to have fun in this beautiful and vibrant part of the world, and New Year’s Eve at Bondi Beach is a major part of that ambition.

“This event is destined to become one of the most exciting on the calendar, and I can’t wait for the community to see what’s in store for the very first one.”
