Sydney nightclub and popular hotspot Ivy was shut down by police on Sunday night after three people were taken to hospital for alleged drug overdoses.
According to Sydney Morning Herald, paramedics were called to the venue to treat three patients within as many hours who are alleged to have taken a number of drugs, including MDMA and ecstasy — one of the patients was a 50-year-old woman who is currently in a serious condition.
A NSW Police spokeswoman also confirmed a number of people who were thought to be under the influence of illegal drugs were removed from the George Street club.
The Sunday event, 'I Remember House' was due to finish at 10pm last night, however the event was stopped and all patrons were removed at 9:40pm.
The Sydney City Local Area Command and Alcohol Licensing Enforcement Command are currently investigating the situation.
The news comes just over a week after another Sydney venue was forced to close its doors after staff were caught consuming illegal drugs while on shift.

Organisers of Ivy nightclub have denied that the event was shut down by police on Sunday evening.
Speaking to theMusic, event management said: "Any reports suggesting that the ‘I Remember House’ party at ivy was shut down early are entirely inaccurate."
"The third-party event at ivy was always due to conclude at 10pm. The final song of the evening was played at 9.55pm."
