Sydney Guitar Fest Aiming To Break World Record For Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble

That is a LOT of guitars.

More AC/DC AC/DC

If you happen to be in Sydney on 12 August, don't be surprised if you hear AC/DC being played very loudly.

Sydney Guitar Festival has announced it will aim to break the Guinness World Record for the largest electric guitar ensemble when 500 musicians come together to perform the rock outfit's iconic Highway To Hell

The performance will be led by Australia's own The Choirboys, with all money raised going towards the Australian Children's Music Foundation.

"We encourage all guitar fans to come down and join in this monumental world record attempt," event founder Alex Zotov said.

"As some extra incentive, our guitar friends at the Ealing Blues Fest in the UK are attempting the same world record in July, so we would obviously love to ensure the record is kept here in Australia!"

Punters wishing to participate in the attempt can do so here.

The 2018 Sydney Guitar Festival will also feature performances from Tommy Emmanuel, Kaki King, Grigoryan Brothers, Albert Lee and many more.
