Sydney Festival opens this Friday for three weeks and it's about to light Sydney up with delicious treats — musical, theatrical and edible. The Festival has outlined the food vendors taking over the Meriton Festival Village today and it's a mouth-watering list.

You'll be able to dig into the best purveyors of Japanese cuisine from Saké, including their Japanese loaded fries, braised lamb ribs and prawn shumai and Fratelli Fresh with their Italian crispy squid hotdogs and duck ragu penne. Chefs Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz will create two exclusive menus at the Porteno Pie Shop (think pies with brisket and pickled jalapeno and grilled chicken with leek and tarragon) and the Bodega Cantina, where you can stuff yourself with South American street food.

Newtown's favourite burger joint Mary's will have their cheeseburgers and fried chicken at the ready, as will gelato bar Cow & The Moon (having won the World's Best Gelato title FYI), Double Roasters Caravan and Trippas White Group. Over at the Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve, meanwhile, you can grab yourself some Chrissy's Cuts Sausage Dogs, Pizza da Mario Pop-Up, Bar Coco and Sundweesh.

Sydney Festival have also announced the addition of Brooklyn-based soul/Motown act Lake Street Dive to the free Village Outdoor stage, joining the likes of PIRRA, Spectres Of Love, Los Tones and more.
