Sydney-born EDM singer and songwriter Betty Who has scored a number one hit in the US this week, with her track Somebody Loves You topping the Dance Club Play chart.

A key indicator for future trends in the dance market, the track has peaked after jumping five positions this week. It has spent ten weeks in the chart, which theMusic.com.au has been tracking.

This morning 22-year-old Who – real name Jessica Newham – described the result was “crazy”. Now based in New York she is managed by Ethan Schiff.

Elsewhere in the Dance Club Play chart Empire Of The Sun's Celebrate also continued its climb, rising from 25 to 19 in its fourth week.

Meanwhile indie singer Vance Joy consolidated his position in the Adult Alternative Songs chart, with Riptide slipping one position to 11. In the same chart Boy & Bear's American attack continues as Southern Sun jumps from 20 to 16.
