Sycco Releases Limited Edition Cover Of Flume's Debut Single, 'Sleepless'

Future Classic has partnered with nature company Unyoked to unlock the creative power of artists in nature, seeing Sycco rework the cult adored debut single from Flume, Sleepless.

The release is strictly on Bandcamp and is limited to 200 vinyl copies. 

The Brisbane-based fan favourite re-interpreted the label defining track following a period of time spent off the grid while writing immersed in the outdoor wilderness of Unyoked locations in both QLD and NSW.

Following a chaotic and breakthrough 2020, Sycco found creative refuge in nature, spending multiple sessions writing in a cabin. 

Sycco's vocoder vocals sit above the track's already defined iconic melody. Surrounding it are added elements of guitar, piano chords and field recordings from her nature sessions, all combining to become a refreshing invention of the Flume classic.

On her new version, Sycco says: “Escaping out into nature is so special because it reminded me that I’m just a little speck in the universe, just doing my own thing.

"I think everyone should experience it. You’re so disconnected and you realise how simple things could be and how happy you are just doing simple things.”
