SXSW Meet'N'Greet Series Adds An Adelaide Date And More Sydney Speakers

Adelaide and Austin, Texas are sister cities

With recent news emerging of this year's SXSW Meet'N'Greet series and the speakers pencilled in for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the music conference has added additional speakers to its Sydney event and added an Adelaide event, by popular industry demand.

Joining existing Sydney speakers Julia Natoli, Channlel [V]'s program manager and music director, VML design director Mark Berry and Secret Sounds Touring general manager Marc Sousley, Mumbrella's Managing Editor and former editor of B&T, Alex Hayes will be taking the stage, along with Associate Producer of SoundsAustralia, Chelsea Sinnott. Both are two-time attendees of SXSW.

As a result of a video proposal from passionate Adelaide music industry professionals, Adelaide will be enjoying a SXSW Meet'N'Greet event too, on 1 August. Speakers added already include Musitec's David Grice, The AU Review's three-time attendee and writer Sosefina Fuamoli and Workforce Planner's Wendy Perry.

Adelaide industry veterans will be organising a session with government and industry bodies to slate in solid venues and ensure a stronger presence at SXSW from here on out, given that Austin, Texas is Adelaide's sister city.

The series will be hosted by Phil Tripp.
