This year's events will feature a screening of new documentary 'Outside Industry'

The annual series of South By Southwest Meet'n'Greet nights, orchestrated by industry veteran Phil Tripp, will return to Melbourne and Sydney next month, with a third iteration being staged in Brisbane this August, it has been announced.

This year's free events will be held at Bar Open (Monday, 13 July), Newtown Social Club (Tuesday, 14 July) and The New Globe Theatre (Tuesday, 4 August), with each featuring a panel of SXSW veterans on-hand to talk tips and tricks of the trade to help prospective attendees prepare adequately for the annual four-day conference and showcase in Austin, Texas.

The 2015 Meet'N'Greet nights will also boast a screening of controversial documentary Outside Industry: The Story Of SXSW. The film's commercial release has been consistently hampered by wide-reaching "rights clearance costs" (i.e. licensing issues), but will be freely available for attendees to digest at the forthcoming informational evenings. Check out a trailer below.

With artist submissions opening in about a week's time, if you're still looking to be a part of 2016's SXSW event and need help making sense of it all, Tripp's Meet'N'Greets are probably a good idea to get along to.
