Portland native Matthew Ward seemed to polarise a few 'original' fans when he began to focus on his duo with indie starlet Zooey Deschanel, who thought that his new-found fame was watering down his message.
If that were the case, then they'll be pleased with A Wasteland Companion, on which Ward is as focused as his ever been. Even with a who's who of indie collaborators and much bigger listening crowd, it's as pure as his original albums.
The album will be released this Friday 6 April on Spunk through Cooperative, but you can listen to the album in full now!
