The Supergrass singer's latest work drops at the end of the week
English singer-songwriter and ex-Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes is days away from following up his lauded self-produced LP Here Come The Bombs (2012) with the imminent release of eagerly anticipated new release Matador this Friday, 6 February — but before it drops officially, theMusic.com.au is privileged to have a full stream of the album ready to go for your waiting ears today.
Over the course of its 11-song, 39-minute duration, Matador rears its head as a clear demonstration of the ongoing maturation of one of Britain's already well-respected popular songwriters, as evidenced by the recent release of the album's lead single, 20/20. The talented Coombes manned all the instruments utilised in the recording of the album, with the exception of drums on four tracks (handled by Loz Colbert), synths on record opener Buffalo (Charly Coombes), and backing vocals, provided throughout by Beverlei Brown and Faith Simpson.
