Steve Buscemi Doesn't Think Your 'Steve Buscemeyes' Revival Is Funny

We may have struck a nerve

It's official, internet: Steve Buscemi is not a fan of the whole "photoshopping his eyes onto Disney characters" thing that you're all so wild about at the moment.

Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the beloved Boardwalk Empire actor -- who made his name off the back of a string of quirky roles that capitalised on his abnormally large peepers, from the anti-tipping Mr Pink in Reservoir Dogs to woodchipper-bound hitman Carl Showalter in Fargo and 'Marietta Mangler' Garland Greene in Con Air -- recounts how one evening he overheard his wife laughing at something online, and consequently discovered the web's weird obsession with his unique ocular dimensions.

He didn't love finding out about it, as the first minute or so of the below video demonstrates:

This is not the first time the internet has gotten into photoshopping distinct eyeballs onto other people's faces - the original 'Steve Buscemeyes' meme popped up back in April 2011 with a picture combining Buscemi's eyes with Justin Bieber's pretty face. That first appeared on notorious (but wonderful) cesspool of humanity SomethingAwful before the concept was extended and generated its own Tumblr the next day.

Now, if we could just find out what Zooey Deschanel thinks about 'Guys with Zooeyes', or why people are so intent on playing FrankenGod like this, that would be great.
