Featuring 'Please Like Me' star Emily Barclay.

State Theatre Company South Australia have unveiled their 2020 program of eight works, their first under new Artistic Director Mitchell Butel.

It features bold new works from the US and the UK, as well as a line-up of provocative Australian plays.

The season opens with a Belvoir co-production of 2018 American play, and Pulitzer finalist, Dance Nation, as part of Adelaide Festival.

The Gospel According To Paul takes a look back at our most articulate PM, Paul Keating, with The Wharf Revue's Jonathan Biggins in the starring role.

Michelle Law's smash hit Single Asian Female finally makes its way to South Australia, after successful seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Euphoria sees James Smith and Ashton Malcolm bring an entire country town to life, as part of the company's education program. It will then tour through regional South Australia.

The Writer is an STC co-production, starring Emily Barclay as a young playwright, hell-bent on toppling the patriarchy and capitalism.

Patrick Hamilton's 1938 psychodrama Gaslight is given a contemporary edge by actors Ksenja Logos and Nathan O'Keefe, and director Catherine Fitzgerald.

Ripcord closes the STCSA mainstage season, with Nancye Hayes starring as one of two retirement home roommates who don't see eye to eye.

STCSA also launch their Stateside program this season, as a way to assist local small-to-medium theatre companies with marketing and production support. The first two plays are Brink Production's The Bridge Of San Luis Rey starring Paul Capsis, and Theatre Republic's production of Angus Cerrini's Griffin Award-winning play The Bleeding Tree
