Stace Cadet and KLP have joined together to create the soundscape for this year's New Year's Eve fireworks on Sydney Harbour.

With fireworks launched from pontoons, the City of Sydney will host 100,000 individual pyrotechnic effects, fireworks bursting from 4 building rooftops to frame the harbour, 2,000 fireworks boosted from Sydney Opera House sails, 7,000 fireworks fired from more positions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge than ever before, a kaleidoscope of colour, including aquamarine, lemon and magenta crackers, and a rainbow waterfall off the bridge.

"As one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world, we’ve put everything into designing and planning this logistically complex event," commented Fortunato Foti from Foti International Fireworks.

The Creative Director added, "Using our beautiful harbour as a canvas, we think we’ve come up with something special and are excited to share what is sure to be a memorable experience for both those in Sydney and further afield.

"If we can bring everyone together in celebration and looking to the year ahead with renewed optimism and joy, then we’ll see that as a job well done."

As well as the ARIA-nominated, Platinum-selling music producer Stace Cadet and KLP, an original soundtrack will be created by Kombumerri sound artist Rowan Savage (also known as Salllvage) for the 9 pm Calling Country fireworks display.

Savage is using birdsong recordings amassed on Gadigal Country alongside a song sung in language by Nadeena Dixon about fisherwomen who lived and gathered food on Sydney Harbour.

Stace Cadet and KLP will bring the party for the midnight celebrations, which will be live-streamed for anyone who can't make it and simulcast on KIIS 1065. ABC TV and iView will broadcast the Sydney New Year's Eve event from 8:30 pm; the 9 pm and midnight fireworks will be televised on the Sydney New Year's Eve website. Stace Cadet and KLP have been busy this year, performing at Mackay Beach Horse Races, Listen Out, Wildlands, and Wine Machine festivals.

The duo first performed together at the March 2021 instalment of The Island LIVE. Their collaborative hit, Energy, hit #21 on triple j's Hottest 100 for 2020, has racked in over 16 million Spotify streams, was certified Gold and received an ARIA nomination for Best Dance Release.
