"The prettiest live music venue in Melbourne."
Another popular live music venue in Melbourne is up for sale.
The Spotted Mallard in Brunswick has hit the open market this week with Commercial Real Estate calling it "the prettiest live music venue in Melbourne".
The website states that the Sydney Road space, which opened in 2012, is in "hibernation" and that "all the bands and bookings are just on hold waiting for the Covid 19 restrictions to be lifted".
The Spotted Mallard has hosted gigs from a stack of big names over the years including Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, Evan Dando, Mental As Anything, Justin Townes Earle and Tex Perkins.
Meanwhile, former Recovery hosts Dylan Lewis, Jane Gazzo and Leigh Whannell hosted the Recovery 'We Love The '90s' bushfire relief fundraiser at the venue in February.
The news comes after Melbourne nightclub Revolver Upstairs confirmed this week that the sale of the Chapel Street building will not impact operations of the venue, while revered Collingwood venue The Gasometer Hotel also went up for sale last month.
