Adelaide's Spin Off festival – a sister event to Byron Bay's Splendour In The Grass – will not be taking place in 2014, organisers have advised.
Launched as a joint venture between Splendour co-promoter Paul Piticco and Adelaide company 5/4 Entertainment, the festival lured artists such as Lana Del Rey, Of Monsters & Men, Kimbra and Passion Pit to the city of churches in 2012 and 2013.
In a statement the festival organisers said that in response to numerous questions from punters, “It's with a heavy heart that we must now announce that due to scheduling conflicts and international demands on artists, Spin Off Festival will not be taking place in 2014.
“We would like to thank everyone that came out to support us in the last two years, especially those who stood by our side and sang and danced throughout every act. We will attempt to run Spin Off Festival again in 2015.”
In 2012 Spin Off took place at The Jubilee Pavilion before moving to the Thebarton Theatre in 2013.
