After punters got caught in the mud last year, Splendour In The Grass organisers have assured attendees that they’ll be fine this year with the “Sunny with a high chance of good times” weather report shared this morning.

Of course, it’s only Tuesday, so the forecast could change between now and Friday (and the weekend), but it’s looking good.

On Friday, the weather is looking fabulous with a sunny 21 degrees. Saturday is also bright, perhaps a bit less so, and 19 degrees. Sunday isn’t the nicest day; scheduled to be 18 degrees with a 40 percent chance of rain. It’s too soon to tell how much rain will fall, but it’s highly doubtful that Mumford & Sons will be rained out.

In the lead-up to the festival this weekend, Splendour have shared footage of the site itself being built, with the clear, blue skies and sunny vibes standing out amid shots of the stage and campsite.

Lizzo will headline Splendour In The Grass on Friday, 21 July, with Flume putting on a festival-exclusive set and closing the night on Saturday, 22 July, and Mumford & Sons sending everyone off on Sunday, 23 July.

Local acts such as prolific rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Ruel, Pnau, Peach PRC, Tkay Maidza, Dune Rats, Cub Sport, Jack River, The Smith Street Band, RVG, and many more will also be taking the stages at Splendour. Check out the full line-up below.

The event will also have extensive forum, comedy club and science tent programs. With a fine weather forecast, Splendour will remind punters why it remains at the apex of the Australian festival scene. You can plan your weekend here.

Earlier this year, Splendour In The Grass co-founders and organisers Paul Piticco and Jess Ducrou apologised for last year’s festival turning into “Splendour In The Mud” and vowed to introduce a series of changes and improvements to make future events more robust and durable in harsh weather conditions.

Splendour In The Grass 2023 improvements include “weatherproofing upgrades to the venue such as wider walkways and hard surfaces in key traffic areas around the toilets and amenity blocks.”

Their statement added that the grounds will have “enhanced draining throughout the site, easier terrain to move around,” as well as “significant onsite materials and equipment to immediately address unexpected weather conditions, improved communications with you and our local community before, during and after the event, compliance from the bus companies to deliver on their agreed service levels, reviewing our traffic management plan with 2022 learnings.”
