Splendour In The Grass & Falls Festival Unveil 2016 SXSW Showcase Line-up

The Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival rumour mills are in full force this morning after the annual Aussie events unveiled the line-up for this year's joint showcase at the 2016 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, this month.

The announcement has set tongues wagging about the prospect of at least some of the named acts appearing at one or both festivals later this year, with a solid spread of local and international acts set to woo SXSW crowds from 12.30pm on Wednesday 16 March at the city's Sidewinder venue (formerly Red Eyed Fly).

Of the listed artists, punters with an actual recollection of 2015's Splendour will recall already seeing Vallis Alps in action recently — not that that rules them out of making back-to-back appearances by any measure — but Sunflower Bean (US), DZ Deathrays, Matt Woods (UK), Formation (UK), Methyl Ethel, Beach Slang (US), Public Access T.V. (US), The Wild Feathers (US), HÆLOS (UK) and The Strumbellas (Canada) have all had at least a year away from the event (if they've previously performed at all), and their affiliation here with both Splendour and Falls is certainly enough to set some pretty solid line-up speculation in motion.

The 2016 Splendour In The Grass festival will be held at North Byron Parklands from 22-24 July.
