It's not all bad news.
Exactly one week until Splendour In The Grass makes its long-awaited return and its 2022 line-up gets a headliner shake-up.
Organisers have today shared that Yeah Yeah Yeahs are no longer able to make the trip for their festival slot or accompanying sideshows due to health issues, sharing a statement from the band and wishing them a “speedy recovery”.
“We are so sorry to announce that due to health issues we will be cancelling our upcoming shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Splendour In The Grass,” Yeah Yeah Yeahs said.
“The disappointment weighs heavily on us, we apologize for such disappointing news. We’ve been waiting a long time to see you again and we hope to return soon to fulfill our commitments in good health and spirits for you. Much love, YYYs.”
Stepping up and filling the space will be local legends The Avalanches, who will bring their full live show to the Amphitheatre on Friday.

"We’re so happy to be coming home to play Splendour again and can’t wait to see you all there. We’re sending love to the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s x,"The Avalanches shared.
The Avalanches join Gorillaz, The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator and stacks more at North Byron Parklands , with Splendour In The Grass running from July 22-24.
Last week, when dropping the set times, organisers also announced that Surfaces, Mako Road and Adrian Eagle were no longer able to make it to the festival, adding Pond and recent The Music cover artist Tasman Keith in their place.
If you can't handle the FOMO and are still in search of a last-minute ticket, have no fear because there are a limited number of pre-loved passes currently available via Splendour resale.
