Splendour & Falls Organisers To Launch New Festival In 2021

The team behind Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival are set to launch a new festival in 2021. 

As triple j reports, the festival will go ahead thanks to a $1.5 million grant from the Federal Government as part of the August-announced $75 million RISE Fund (Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand) which aims to "reactivate the arts and entertainment sector following the impacts of COVID-19".

“Secret Sounds is thrilled to receive financial support and recognition for an exciting innovative project we look forward to launching in 2021," Secret Sounds Co-CEO and co-founder Jessica Ducrou said.

A date for the new festival is yet to be announced.

The 2020 Splendour festival was called off in June and will instead now go ahead next year with headliners, Gorillaz.

Meanwhile, despite set to move forward with an all-Australian line-up, the December/January Falls Festival events were also called off in August.
