Splendour In The GrassThe organisers of Splendour In The Grass aren't risking anything with the not so lovely weather Byron Bay has been experiencing lately - the festival has announced its changed the arrangements of its camping slightly.
A special carpark will be setup a few hundred metres from the punters' camping spaces. Festival goers usually park their vehicles alongside where they set their SITG home up for the event's duration, but organisers want to lessen the impact and damage on the venue grounds. The carpark initiative is one similar to that of Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, T On The Park and Roskilde.
Splendour has assured punters that there will be enough space allocated to accomodate bigger vehicles such as vans, but have asked those heading along to travel with only the essentials.
The festival has also announced that it won't be charging patrons for showers in the camping grounds - but again, are asking them to keep their showers brief in consideration of the town's water supply. For more details, head to the SITG website.
Splendour takes place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 July. Check out the recently released timetable for the three-day bonanza.
